Baseball Recap: Red Bluff's Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

Red Bluff had to endure an eight-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They won by a run and slipped past the Chico Panthers 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Spartans have posted since March 30th.

Bryce Owens spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Mason Lyford was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and three runs. Red Bluff is undefeated when Lyford posts two or more runs, but 2-17 otherwise.

Red Bluff's record now sits at 7-17. As for Chico, with the loss, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 13-7.
