Soccer Recap: Mcfarland's Win on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Four

McFarland proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by four) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 win over the Wasco Tigers. Given McFarland's advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 131st, while Wasco are ranked 675th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

McFarland's one-goal win came courtesy of Emiliano Covarrubias, who's now up to six this season.

The victory keeps McFarland at an undefeated 9-0-4. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 12 goals over those four matches. As for Wasco, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-6-2.

McFarland and West will compete for holiday cheer at 4:50 p.m. on Friday. As for Wasco, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Clovis at 11:00 a.m. on January 3, 2026.
