Basketball Recap: Del Norte's Loss Ends Three-Game Winning Streak at Home

Del Norte lost against Valley back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Del Norte Knights took a 62-48 bruising from the Valley Vikings.

Valley had a senior duo take command as Angelito Villa went 10 of 17 on his way to 29 points and six rebounds and Carter Monroe dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 boards. The matchup was Monroe's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Abeyta-Jefferson, who posted three points and five assists.

Del Norte's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-10. As for Valley, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-11.

The future could be bright for both Del Norte and Valley: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Del Norte will look to extend Hope Christian's three-game losing streak when the meet at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Valley will try to hand Bernalillo their fifth-straight defeat when the two meet at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
