Baseball Game Preview: Prosser Mustangs vs. Kiona-Benton Bears

The Prosser Mustangs will hit the road for the first time this season to face off against the Kiona-Benton Bears at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Prosser is leaving town to face Kiona-Benton after disappointing their home crowd in their season opener. Prosser took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of River View on Friday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it 13 in a row.

Trevor Kreps made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole Three bases. while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Jacob Rainer, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Saturday just wasn't the day for Kiona-Benton's offense. They came up short against Zillah on Saturday, falling 21-0. The Bears just can't catch a break and have now endured five defeats in a row dating back to last season.

Prosser beat Kiona-Benton 20-15 in their previous matchup back in March of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for Prosser since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
