Volleyball Recap: Mandarin's Winning Streak Snapped at Seven Games

If Mandarin was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Atlantic Coast on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mustangs fell just short of the Wolfson Wolfpack by a score of 3-2 on Wednesday. The Mustangs' defeat signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

Mandarin started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 20-25, 23-25, 25-12, 25-13, 15-7.

Kyla Hollis paced Mandarin's offense, picking up 19 kills. Hollis got some help from Madison Cady and her 30 assists. Rayna Joquin controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Leading Wolfson to victory were Carter Rowell and Monica Mina. Rowell had 24 digs and two aces, while Mina had 22 digs and six assists. Rowell is also crushing it when it comes to assists: she's posted at least 24 every time she's taken the court this season.

Mandarin's loss dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Wolfson, they pushed their record up to 15-1 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home.

Looking ahead, Mandarin will head out to face off against Sandalwood on Tuesday. As for Wolfson, they have already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against Fletcher on the 9th.
