Basketball Game Preview: Kokomo Wildkats vs. Richmond Red Devils

The Kokomo Wildkats will face off against the Richmond Red Devils at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Richmond took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Kokomo, who comes in off a win.

Last Thursday, Kokomo didn't have too much trouble with Culver Academies as they won 74-60. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wildkats.

Kokomo's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zion Bellamy, who went 5 for 9 to rack up 21 points in addition to six assists and five rebounds. That's the most boards Bellamy has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Baris Moore, who went 6 of 13 on his way to 17 points along with three steals and three blocks.

Meanwhile, Richmond lost to Anderson at home by a 68-54 margin on Thursday. The Red Devils haven't had much luck with the Indians recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

Kokomo's victory bumped their record up to 14-5. As for Richmond, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-11.

Everything went Kokomo's way against Richmond when the teams last played back in February of 2024, as Kokomo made off with an 83-61 win. Will Kokomo repeat their success, or does Richmond have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
