The Tate Aggies are taking a road trip to square off against the West Florida Jaguars at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Tate is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.

Tate is headed into Friday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Thursday. They fell 6-1 to Northview.

Jordan Smith was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Tate saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Blakely Campbell, who went 1-for-3 with one triple. That triple was Campbell's first of the season.

Meanwhile, West Florida might've scored the first runs on Thursday, but it was Niceville who claimed the real prize. West Florida took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Niceville.

West Florida's defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 0-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs over those games. As for Tate, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.
