Softball Game Preview: Central Dragons vs. Bedford Bisons

The Central Dragons are taking a road trip to face off against the Bedford Bisons at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with six losses in a row, Central turned things around against Penns Valley Area on Monday. They came out on top against the Rams by a score of 7-4.

Riley Peterson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Central saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Norah Bechtel, who went 2-for-3 with one run. That run was Bechtel's first of the season. Hailey Fries was another, earning one run and two stolen bases.

Meanwhile, Bedford hadn't done well against Central Cambria recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Bisons walked away with a 6-1 victory over the Red Devils.

Bedford's record is now 16-0. As for Central, they picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 3-13.
