Softball Game Preview: Beaumont School Blue Streaks vs. Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin Lions

Beaumont School is 0-8 against Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin since April of 2018 but things could change on Wednesday. The Blue Streaks will look to defend their home field against the Lions at 5:00 p.m.

Beaumont School made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Holy Name, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Blue Streaks fell just short of the Green Wave by a score of 8-6 on Tuesday. The Blue Streaks' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Maddie Wilson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Penelope Zoldak, who went 1-for-4 with one triple and one run.

Meanwhile, Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin entered their tilt with Chardon on Tuesday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 5-4 W against the Hilltoppers. That's two games straight that the Lions have won by just one run.

Alex Mould spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on five hits.

On the hitting side, Sienna Steinmetz was excellent, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Beaumont School now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Beaumont School couldn't quite get it done against Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 as they fell 6-2. Can the Blue Streaks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
