Softball Recap: Montabella Mustangs vs. Breckenridge Huskies
Montabella had lost eight straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 2-19 to make it nine. They lost 12-2 to the Breckenridge Huskies. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Huskies this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 17-6 on Thursday.
Montabella saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Addyson Strohl, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.
As for Breckenridge, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 16-14. Considering they have won 11 contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
On Breckenridge's side, Adyson Collins was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Collins was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lydia Slavik, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted over her last 12 games. Emma Tinson was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
