Volleyball Recap: Maumee Panthers vs. Otsego Knights
Maumee was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Otsego Knights. The Panthers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Knights from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.
Maumee started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 22-25, 26-24, 25-18, 25-22.
Maumee's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Julia Coutcher, who had 18 digs and two assists, and Mia Mitchell, who had 11 digs and three aces. Myla Jordan also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.
Otsego was led to victory by Ava Weaver and Molly Kramer. Weaver had 27 digs and four aces, while Kramer had 18 digs. Kramer has been hot recently, having posted 12 or more digs the last three times she's played.
Maumee now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Otsego, their victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-4.
