Basketball Game Preview: Danville Warriors vs. Decatur Central Hawks

Danville has gone 5-0 against Decatur Central recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Danville Warriors will welcome the Decatur Central Hawks at 7:30 p.m. Danville is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.8 points per game this season.

Danville's tournament run continued when they took on Plainfield on Saturday. Danville took a hard 49-35 fall against Plainfield. The contest marked the Warriors' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

The losing side was boosted by Emma Ancelet, who posted 12 points along with eight boards and five steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last ten games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Davis, who put up nine points.

Meanwhile, Decatur Central had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They secured a 53-49 W over Martinsville on Saturday.

Decatur Central's win bumped their record up to 5-11. As for Danville, their loss ended a 17-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 14-4.

Danville was able to grind out a solid victory over Decatur Central in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, winning 61-48. Does Danville have another victory up their sleeve, or will Decatur Central turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
