Baseball Recap: Washington Takes a Loss

Washington came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 8-2 to the Lincoln Mustangs. The Eagles were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Mustangs earlier this season, when they won 11-9.

Washington saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tasso Tourlos, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. Tourlos has become a key player for the Eagles: the team is 6-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 3-15 otherwise.

Washington's defeat dropped their record down to 9-16. As for Lincoln, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-12 record this season.

Washington will challenge The Academy - San Francisco at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Eagles are facing the Wolves at the right time seeing as the Wolves are stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Lincoln, they will take on Lick-Wilmerding at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
