Softball Recap: Whitehaven Takes a Loss

Whitehaven extended their losing streak to five on Wednesday, dropping them down to 3-7. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 13-11 heartbreaker at the hands of the White Station Spartans. Even if the Tigers couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

As for White Station, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted against Whitehaven since March 20, 2019.

For White Station's part, they let Debra Echlin and Baily Britt run wild. Echlin went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, two stolen bases, and four RBI, while Britt went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Those three RBI gave Britt a new career-high. Catherine Knott-Craig also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Coming up, Whitehaven will venture away from home to challenge Trezevant at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for White Station, they will take on Memphis Central at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
