Baseball Game Preview: Enterprise Hornets vs. Foothill Cougars

For the second straight game, Enterprise will face off against Foothill. The Hornets will welcome the Cougars at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Enterprise hasn't scored more than two runs for five games straight, a trend the team is eager to reverse.

Enterprise fell victim to Foothill and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Cougars, falling 11-0.

For Foothill's part, the result came thanks to Colton Douglas's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up ten Ks. Douglas has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Tyce Tenney and Blake Schwerdt did most of the damage at the plate: Tenney got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base, while Schwerdt went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Bill Duchi, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Foothill was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .421. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Enterprise only posted a batting average of .062.

Enterprise's defeat dropped their record down to 11-11-1. As for Foothill, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season.
