Volleyball Recap: Winfield Takes a Loss

Winfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 2-0 to the Conway Springs Cardinals. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Vikings of the 2-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2015.

Winfield was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The final score came out to 25-16, 25-23.

Karsyn Hutto paced Winfield's offense, picking up six kills. Hutto got some help from Addie Flaton and her 16 assists.

Winfield's defeat dropped their record down to 7-20. As for Conway Springs, they pushed their record up to 18-9 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Winfield didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Circle on the 11th. As for Conway Springs, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Douglass on the 11th.
