Baseball Recap: Pungo Christian Academy Triumphs

Pungo Christian Academy never let their opponents score on Monday. They came out on top against the Ridgecroft Rams by a score of 4-0. The Raiders haven't had any issues with the Rams recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Pungo Christian Academy's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Parker Byrd, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4. Byrd is becoming a predictor of Pungo Christian Academy's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 1-4 when he doesn't).

Pungo Christian Academy's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 4-4. As for Ridgecroft, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-3 record.

Coming up, Ridgecroft will take on Albemarle School at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Pungo Christian Academy will be paying especially close attention to Ridgecroft's game: after Ridgecroft faces off against Albemarle School, they'll take on Pungo Christian Academy again at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
