Baseball Recap: Show Low Takes a Loss

Show Low lost against Snowflake back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Cougars fell just short of the Lobos by a score of 8-7. That's two games in a row now that the Cougars have lost by just one run.

Karter Alexander and Nick Hall stepped up to the plate in a big way. Alexander scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4, while Hall went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Jonathan Mackenzie, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

This is the second loss in a row for Show Low and nudges their season record down to 13-8. Even worse, they were so close both times: the losses came by an average of only one runs. As for Snowflake, they pushed their record up to 12-6 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Show Low will face off against Blue Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Yellow Jackets will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Cougars surely won't give up without a fight. As for Snowflake, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Alchesay at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Lobos' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Falcons have averaged an impressive 8.4 runs per game this season.
