Basketball Recap: Sparta's Win Ends Three-Game Losing Streak at Home

On Monday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, the Sparta Spartans beat the Shawano Community Hawks 72-67. Given the Spartans' advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 117th, while the Hawks are ranked 309th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Sparta's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 16-9. As for Shawano Community, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-17 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Sparta beat Shawano Community by a score of 72-67 on Tuesday.
