Edgerton lost to Hilltop back in May of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Bulldogs came out on top against the Cadets by a score of 7-3.

Corinne Cape spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Ava Giesige was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. She also hit a triple, marking her first of the season. Olivia Wallace was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4.

Edgerton's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Hilltop, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 7-1.

Edgerton wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 5-0 loss against Montpelier on the 12th. As for Hilltop, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 12-3 victory against Delta on the 12th.
