Softball Recap: Brewer Wins Going Away Against Mount Desert Island

Brewer had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt Mount Desert Island on Wednesday. The Witches were the clear victors by a 14-7 margin over the Trojans. The contest marked the Witches' most dominant win of the season.

Emma Jameson was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one double. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Bragdon, who went 3-for-4 with five runs and two RBI.

Brewer was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mount Desert Island only posted a batting average of .229.

Brewer's record is now 7-4. As for Mount Desert Island, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-6.

Coming up, Brewer will face off against Mt. Ararat at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Witches are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Mount Desert Island, they will square off against Ellsworth at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Trojans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 8.3 runs per game this season.
