Baseball Recap: South Dearborn Takes a Loss

South Dearborn extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping their season record down to 7-6 in the process. They fell 3-0 to the East Central Trojans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Trojans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-0 on Monday.

South Dearborn saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gabe Perry, who went 1-for-3 with one triple.

As for East Central, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 10-5. Their pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last three contests.

On East Central's side, the team relied heavily on Collin Harrill, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two RBI. Those two stolen bases gave Harrill a new career-high. Cole Reynolds was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run.

Looking ahead, South Dearborn will face off against Greensburg at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for East Central, they will head out to face off against Richmond at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Red Devils' pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so the Trojans' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
