Recap: Adams Central Patriots vs. Ord Chanticleers

The Adams Central Patriots won the last time they faced the Ord Chanticleers, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Adams Central enjoyed a cozy 56-40 win over Ord. Given Adams Central's advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 27th, while Ord is ranked 121st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

When it comes to explaining why Ord lost, one person who can't be blamed is Claire Cargill. Despite the final result, she scored 22 points along with three steals. Cargill is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Lillee Alexander was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with six rebounds and two steals.

The victory makes it two in a row for Adams Central and bumps their season record up to 10-2. As for Ord, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-6.

Adams Central will head out on the road to challenge Northwest at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Northwest focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 last Friday. As for Ord, they will be playing at home against Boone Central on Friday. Boone Central is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
