Basketball Recap: North East Comes Up Short

North East lost against Fairview back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The North East Grape Pickers came up short against the Fairview Tigers, falling 60-36. While losing is never fun, the Grape Pickers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 338th, while the Tigers are ranked 149th).

North East's loss dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Fairview, their win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-5.

North East has already played their next matchup (against McDowell), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Fairview will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Meadville at 2:30 p.m. Meadville is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 64.6 points per game this season.
