Basketball Game Preview: Ross Rams vs. Preble Shawnee Arrows

The Ross Rams will venture away from home to challenge the Preble Shawnee Arrows at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Ross took a loss when they played away from home last Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They greeted the New Year with with a 54-39 win over Bellbrook. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Rams' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 393rd, while the Golden Eagles are ranked 105th).

Meanwhile, Preble Shawnee had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.8 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Saturday. They came out on top against the Mohawks by a score of 70-60. The Arrows' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Ross' win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 5-4. As for Preble Shawnee, they pushed their record up to 7-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Ross came up short against Preble Shawnee in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, falling 55-50. Can Ross avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
