 White Pine and Needles squared off in some playoff action  on Thursday, but White Pine had to settle for second. They lost  14-4 to the Needles Mustangs. White Pine's defeat continues a  trend for the  team, making it three in a row.
 White Pine saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Tucker Maestes, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 1-for-3.
 On Needles' side,  Holden Jones made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound,   tossing  an inning while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. Jones has been consistent recently: he hasn't  given up  more than one  earned run in three consecutive pitching appearances. Jones was even better at the plate,  going 2-for-3 with two  runs, a  triple,  and a  stolen base.
 In other batting news,  Talon Paget was  incredible,  scoring three  runs and  stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. He is on a roll when it comes to  stolen bases, as he's  now  stolen  at least one in the last three games he's  played.  JD Lusk was another key contributor,  going 1-for-2 with a  home run and two  RBI.
