Baseball Recap: Gunnison Valley Victorious

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Gunnison Valley walked away with it. They walked away with a 4-1 victory over the American Leadership Academy Eagles on Friday. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 11-7 victory last Saturday.

Daxton Knudsen made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

Knudsen wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Landry Edwards, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double.

The win made it two in a row for Gunnison Valley and bumps their season record up to 21-6. As for American Leadership Academy, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 19-10 record.

Gunnison Valley has already played their next matchup, an 11-1 loss against San Juan on the 9th. American Leadership Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
