Soccer Game Preview: Jacobs vs. Woodstock

The Jacobs Golden Eagles will challenge the Woodstock Blue Streaks at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Jacobs will be strutting in after a victory while Woodstock will be coming in after a loss.

Having struggled with five defeats in a row, Jacobs turned things around against Crystal Lake South on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Gators, sneaking past 2-1.

Meanwhile, Woodstock came up short against Belvidere North on Wednesday, falling 6-1. While losing is never fun, Woodstock can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 294th, while Belvidere North are ranked 87th).

Jacobs' win bumped their record up to 4-11-2. As for Woodstock, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-10-1.

Jacobs took their victory against Woodstock when the teams last played back in September of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. Do the Golden Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Blue Streaks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
