Basketball Game Preview: New Dorp Central Cougars vs. Moore Catholic Mavericks

The New Dorp Central Cougars will square off against the Moore Catholic Mavericks at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

New Dorp is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Catholic Central just ended the team's 11-game winning streak last Saturday. The game between them and the Crusaders didn't end well, with New Dorp falling 58-41. While losing is never fun, the Central Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 73rd, while the Crusaders are ranked ninth).

Meanwhile, Moore Catholic entered their tilt with Notre Dame Academy on Tuesday with eight consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with nine. They walked away with a 74-64 victory over the Gators.

Moore Catholic's win bumped their record up to 16-1. As for New Dorp, their loss dropped their record down to 11-3.
