Baseball Recap: Franklin County Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Franklin County took on Hagerstown on Saturday. The Wildcats lost 8-2 to the Tigers. The Wildcats were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Tigers earlier this season, when they won 7-3.

Franklin County has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record this season. As for Hagerstown, their win bumped their record up to 14-9.

Franklin County and Hagerstown are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Wildcats will square off against Batesville at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bulldogs' pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so Franklin County's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Hagerstown, they will take on Union County at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Patriots have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.16 runs per game on average), something the Tigers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
