Volleyball Recap: Jackson Center Takes a Loss

If Jackson Center was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Riverside on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Tigers fell just short of the Marion Local Flyers by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The Tigers have struggled against the Flyers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Jackson Center took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 24-26, 12-25, 25-15, 15-11.

Tatum Reichert paced Jackson Center's offense, picking up 14 kills. Reichert got some help from Laynee Shields and her 17 assists. Reichert was also solid from the service line: she led the team with six aces.

Jackson Center's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jackson Center is packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will challenge Anna at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Marion Local, they will take on Celina at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
