Football Recap: Wagner Takes a Loss

Wagner lost against Boerne-Champion back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Thunderbirds came up short against the Chargers, falling 45-22. The Thunderbirds have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Although Wagner took the loss, they still got scores from J'Anthony Price and Noah Barbosa.

It was another big night for Brogan Dempsey, who picked up 127 receiving yards and three scores for Boerne-Champion. That's the most receiving touchdowns Dempsey has posted since back in September.

Wagner's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Boerne-Champion, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.

Wagner wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 35-14 loss against New Braunfels on the 6th. As for Boerne-Champion, they will square off against Pieper at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That contest will pit two of the most dominant wideouts against one another: Dempsey and Cash Lancaster.
