Somerset and Hollidaysburg are an even 5-5 against one another since November of 2016, but not for long. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Somerset is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.
Last Monday, Somerset made easy work of Westmont Hilltop and carried off a 3-0 win.
Somerset walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the second set). The final score came out to 25-23, 25-13, 25-22.

Somerset relied on the efforts of Elly Fletcher, who had five digs and two aces, and Molly Stoy, who had 11 assists and three digs. Fletcher has been hot recently, having posted two or more aces the last three times she's played.
Meanwhile, Hollidaysburg unfortunately witnessed the end of their 18-match winning streak last Thursday. They fell just short of Central Cambria by a score of 3-2. While the Golden Tigers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Red Devils 25-18 in the first set.
Hollidaysburg started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 18-25, 24-26, 27-25, 25-19, 15-10.
Hollidaysburg's loss dropped their record down to 19-2. As for Somerset, their win bumped their record up to 23-5-1.
Somerset came up short against Hollidaysburg in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, falling 3-1. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
