Basketball Recap: Broken Arrow Makes It 14 in a Row at Home

Broken Arrow entered their tilt with Northwest Classen on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Northwest Classen Knights 75-7. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked sixth, while the Knights are ranked 362nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Broken Arrow to victory, but perhaps none more so than McKenzie Mathurin, who went 7 for 14 en route to 16 points and four steals. Mathurin's evening made it 19 games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Macy Marraccini was another key player, going 6 of 7 on her way to 15 points.

Broken Arrow smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 15 consecutive matches.

Broken Arrow pushed their record up to 17-2 with the win, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Northwest Classen, they are on a 13-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-14.

Broken Arrow will face off against Edmond North at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Northwest Classen, they will challenge Enid at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
