Softball Recap: Palatine Comes Up Short

The home team had come away the winner the last five times Palatine and Conant had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Pirates took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cougars on Wednesday. The Pirates haven't had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Palatine now has a losing record of 13-14-1. As for Conant, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Palatine will venture away from home to face off against Barrington at 4:45 p.m. on Friday. The Fillies/Broncos will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something the Pirates surely won't give up without a fight. As for Conant, they are taking a road trip to take on Hoffman Estates at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. The Cougars are facing the Hawks at the right time seeing as the Hawks are stuck on a 21-game losing streak.
