Basketball Recap: Childress Comes Up Short

Childress won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Friday. They were beaten by the Whiteface Antelopes 55-19. While losing is never fun, the Bobcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 592nd, while the Antelopes are ranked 146th).

Childress' defeat dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Whiteface, the win was the 12th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 19-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Childress Bobcats duke it out with the Canadian Wildcats at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Whiteface, they will take on Ropes at 2:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Ropes has won three straight at home, while Whiteface won 18 straight on the road dating back to last season), something that'll have to change.
