Baseball Game Preview: Greater New Bedford RVT Bears vs. Bishop Stang Spartans

The Greater New Bedford RVT Bears will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Bishop Stang Spartans at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Greater New Bedford RVT is coming home looking for redemption after taking a loss in their road opener. They lost 14-7 to Barnstable on Tuesday.

Boston Bettencourt was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing five bases while getting on base in two of his five plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Rego, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.

Meanwhile, Bishop Stang gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Saturday. They walked away with an 8-4 win over Old Colony RVT.

Brock Winslow was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3. Another player making a difference was Harry Tingley Prince, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI.

Greater New Bedford RVT couldn't quite finish off Bishop Stang when the teams last played back in April of 2015 and fell 6-4. Can Greater New Bedford RVT avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
