After a string of three wins, Waupun's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell just short of Portage by a score of 2-1.
Waupun started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-21, 15-12.
Among those leading the charge was Christina Geltemeyer, who had 13 digs and two aces. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last five games she's played. Blake Brancel also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.
