Basketball Game Preview: Southwest Onslow Stallions vs. Swansboro Pirates

Southwest Onslow hasn't had much luck against Swansboro recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. Having just played yesterday, the Stallions will head out on the road to face off against the Pirates at 6:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

On Tuesday, Southwest Onslow beat Havelock 55-44. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Stallions.

Meanwhile, Swansboro posted their closest win since December 30, 2024 last Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 67-64 victory over White Oak. The Pirates haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Swansboro's win came from a few key players Southwest Onslow will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Tyon Spain, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and 14 rebounds. Connor May was another key player, going 7-for-16 en route to 16 points and six boards.

Southwest Onslow's record now sits at 2-0. As for Swansboro, their record is now 3-0.

Southwest Onslow couldn't quite finish off Swansboro when the teams last played back in December of 2024 and fell 65-62. Can the Stallions avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
