Baseball Game Preview: Cupertino Pioneers vs. Saratoga Falcons

The Cupertino Pioneers will venture away from home to square off against the Saratoga Falcons at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Things were looking good for Cupertino after they put the first points on the board on Saturday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell 4-1 to Terra Nova.

Meanwhile, Saratoga came up short against Santa Clara on Thursday, falling 12-2. The Falcons haven't had much luck with the Bruins recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Saratoga saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Doug Bettinger, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Nitin Sankar also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Cupertino's loss dropped their record down to 5-5-1. As for Saratoga, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.

Everything went Cupertino's way against Saratoga in their previous meeting on March 4th, as Cupertino made off with a 20-3 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Cupertino since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
