League recap: Climax-Scotts tops Camden-Frontier to extend winning streak

Climax-Scotts extended the longest winning streak in Southern Central this week by beating Camden-Frontier, 57-0. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Panthers.

Bellevue was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from seventh to fourth in the league. Earlier in the week, the Broncos defeated North Adams-Jerome 52-22.

Bellevue's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Zach Webb threw for 204 and three touchdowns and Darrin Sommer had 97 yards receiving. On the ground Dalton Husltebus chipped in 225 yards. Ethan Bloch helped Bellevue's passing attack out by catching one ball for 44 yards.

Bellevue's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Broncos feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Webb has thrown for 952 yards and seven touchdowns this season, while Dakota Rose has 13 catches for 246 yards. Tyler Lane leads the league in rushing with 353 yards.

Two of the top units in Southern Central will face off this week when DOUG BLATTNER's team takes on the Redskins. The Broncos' offense has scored 112 points this season, good for No. 1 in the league, while Camden-Frontier has allowed only 202 on the year.

The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Pittsford takes on Climax-Scotts. The Wildcats have allowed 39 points this season, while Kevin Langs's team has given up 42.

The Panthers took down Scott Campbell's team 57-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
