Softball Recap: Hampton Talbots vs. Blackhawk Cougars
Hampton proved they can win big on Monday (they won by 11) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Blackhawk Cougars 2-1. The Talbots haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Marissa Snyder made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off seven hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Eden Lawrence, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Hampton's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-3.
