Baseball Recap: Jal Takes a Loss

Jal lost against Loving back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Jal came up short against Loving, falling 15-6. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Javier Santillan was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Fernando Sauceda also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Even though they lost, Jal was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .433. This was only their first loss (out of three games) when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Jal's record now sits at 2-4. As for Loving, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Jal didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 19-1 defeat against Dexter on the 29th. As for Loving, they have also already played their next contest, a 16-11 victory against Non Varsity Opponent on the 29th.
