Baseball Game Preview: Cordova Wolves vs. Ridgeway Roadrunners

The Cordova Wolves will take on the Ridgeway Roadrunners at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

On Thursday, Cordova made easy work of Memphis East and carried off a 12-4 victory. Considering the Wolves have won three games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Logan Chapman spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four earned runs on nine hits and racked up 12 Ks.

At the plate, Cordova got a massive performance out of Noahrrentine Barrentine, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Those three stolen bases gave Barrentine a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Erick Valles, who scored two runs and stole four bases while going 3-for-3.

Cordova always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .611. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Ridgeway got the win against Craigmont two weeks ago by a conclusive 7-1.

Cordova's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Ridgeway, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.

Cordova took their win against Ridgeway when the teams last played back in April of 2019 by a conclusive 21-8 score. Will the Wolves repeat their success, or do the Roadrunners have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
