Basketball Recap: Alexis Shiflett's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Meadville over Brunswick

If Meadville was riding high fresh off their 62-30 takedown of Northwestern last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Meadville Eagles took a 55-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Brunswick Wildcats on Saturday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 60-43 back in December of 2024.

Meadville's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alexis Shiflett, who posted ten points and three steals. Those three steals gave Shiflett a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lexi Kiel, who scored 13 points.

Meadville's defeat dropped their record down to 16-13. As for Brunswick, their win bumped their record up to 15-7.

Meadville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Brunswick, they have already played their next game, a 55-36 loss against Princeton on the 4th.
