Softball Recap: Cupertino Find Success

Cupertino won the last time they faced Santa Clara and things went their way on Friday too. The Pioneers walked away with a 10-7 victory over the Bruins. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Pioneers.

Jasmyne Llanos spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and three unearned) runs on ten hits.

On the hitting side, Shelby Apostolo was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Lilly Roman, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Cupertino kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 6-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Cupertino's record now sits at 8-6. As for Santa Clara, they now have a losing record of 7-8.

Cupertino didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 11-0 defeat against Saratoga on the 29th. As for Santa Clara, they have also already played their next matchup, an 8-4 loss against Terra Nova on the 29th.
