Basketball Recap: Bedford County CIA Takes a Loss

Bedford County CIA was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were beaten by the Blair County Christian Bobcats 63-34. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bobcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 44-31 back in January.

Silas Gorczyca and Josiah Gorczyca certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Silas dropped a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds, while Josiah went 7-for-12 to rack up 16 points and four steals. Thanks to that strong game, Josiah now owns an excellent 45.2% shooting accuracy.

Leading Blair County Christian to victory were Jonathan Marucci and Aidyn Lundy. Marucci dropped a double-double with 19 points and ten boards, while Lundy posted 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Lundy is becoming a predictor of Blair County Christian's success: when he posts at least three steals the team is 2-1 (and 7-11 when he doesn't). Colton Walter was another key player, putting up eight points.

Bedford County CIA's loss dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Blair County Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 9-12 record this season.

Looking ahead, Bedford County CIA will square off against Varsity Opponent on Saturday. As for Blair County Christian, they will host Calvary Baptist Academy at 7:00 p.m. on February 25th.
