Baseball Game Preview: Peetz Bulldogs vs. Prairie Mustangs

For the second straight game, Peetz will face off against Prairie. The Bulldogs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Mustangs at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday. Peetz is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.5 runs per game this season.

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Peetz and Prairie, and Prairie kept the tradition alive. The Bulldogs fell 10-7 to the Mustangs on Tuesday.

Conner Schumacher put in work while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 3-for-4. He has become a key player for Peetz: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 1-6 otherwise.

In other batting news, Logan Vallier was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing four bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Peetz is 2-1 when Vallier posts two or more stolen bases, but 2-6 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Rhyder Bayne, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

The win got Prairie back to even at 4-4. As for Peetz, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7.
