It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Wharton had no problem doing just that on Friday. They secured a 57-51 W over the Port Isabel Tarpons. The win was familiar territory for the Tigers, who have now won eight contests in a row.

Jacoryan Dickerson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double with 19 points and 18 boards. What's more, he racked up six blocks, the most he's had since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jameir Hearne-Robinson, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and nine rebounds.

Wharton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in nine consecutive matchups.

Wharton's victory bumped their record up to 26-11. As for Port Isabel, their loss dropped their record down to 17-14.
