Softball Game Preview: Glenn Grizzlies vs. Liberty Hill Panthers

The Glenn Grizzlies will face off against the Liberty Hill Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Glenn sitting on three straight wins and Liberty Hill on seven.

On Friday, Glenn earned a 5-1 victory over Lehman.

Maddy Butler spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Fuego Garcia, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Deanna Dailey was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Liberty Hill took on Lockhart on Friday. Liberty Hill walked away with a 6-3 win over Lockhart. That's two games straight that the Panthers have won by exactly three runs.

Liberty Hill pushed their record up to 12-2-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Glenn, their win bumped their record up to 10-3.

Glenn couldn't quite finish off Liberty Hill when the teams last played back in April of 2024 and fell 5-3. Can Glenn avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
